Start of the Season: “Attila” in Amsterdam

Hasmik Papian has started the new season as Odabella in Verdi’s early opera “Attila” (in concert version). The performance with the Radio Chamber Philharmonic Orchestra took place at the prestigious Concertgebouwin Amsterdam on Saturday, September 8th, at 2 pm. First concert of the season in the famous serious of “Saturday Matinees”, the performance was also broadcast live on the Dutch Radio NPS. Ezio was sung by Paolo Gavanelli, Foresto by Massimiliano Pisapia and the title role by Ildar Abdrazakov. The conductor was Jaap van Zweden. The Armenian soprano sang her first Odabella back in 1997 at the Ravenna Festival and has appeared in the role since, among others, at Opernhaus Zurich and Staatstheater Karlsruhe.
